Two female monarchs (2 of my 4 captive reared reported earlier today) nectaring heavily on verbena bonareinsis (aka verbena on a stick). This plant is heavily favored in my flower garden by many species of butterfly (it vastly out does butterfly bushes in attracting them). Today butterflies visiting my v. bonareinsis plants include monarchs, zebra swallowtail, tiger swallowtail, clear wing hummingbird moths, skippers, sulfurs, buckeyes and black swallowtail. Earlier this year it was favored by my great spangled fritillaries, red admirals, american ladies and the tiny butterflies.
V. bonareinsis grows in zones 6-10 (as an annual in my zone 7 garden but it reseeds readily.)
