This has been a very light 'Monarch Summer' with many areas of milkweed, it was surprising. However, lately on walks near fields, one or 2 would be sighted flying around milkweed plants. Big difference from last year. This year Yellow and Black Swallowtails are the norm.
We've planted butterfly gardens in Glenn, and in a casual sighting 2 Swallowtails to maybe 1 Monarch are sighted.
Would this all may be due the destruction of the Monarch's habitat in Mexico this spring?
