We're seeing as many as three monarchs at a time, and they finally seem to be nectaring very intensely rather than mating and laying eggs, which they were doing as recently as five days ago. I think we're starting to observe the migration.
The flowers that they're visiting are a very large Lantana that I keep deadheaded to promote continuing bloom, tithonia that the goldfinches pick the seeds from, and tropical milkweed that keeps blooming without any need for deadheading.
