Fluttering past my house in a "subrural" development with much open wild land. This is tremendously exciting to me, because in the past two years, I have noted only one or two south-migrating monarchs during the entire autumn!
I may also have seen a Monarch a few days earlier, but was not close enough to determine exact species ... could have been a Viceroy.
