Around our area, the township has mowed the edges of the road, where we usually see monarch larva. However, we found several large milkweed plants at a park, and they certainly had alot of caterpillars! I counted at least six on one plant, not counting the numerous eggs. Most of the caterpillars were quite small, a little bigger than they are when they come out of the egg, which keeps in line with the monarchs being somewhat later. Needless to say, I was quite impressed with the amount I saw!
