At least 8 Monarchs in Itasca State Park, MN along the Schoolcraft Trail at the North arm of Itasca Lake. Then another 8 later at the dock of the Chester Charles area, again North arm of the lake.
They were nectaring on Flat-topped Aster mostly and on some Joe Pye Weed. Their wings looked perfect. So exciting to see so many preparing for migration south.
