65 degrees, rainy, overcast--duck and be careful not to step on my hummingbirds as they go whizzing by :-) As the saying goes: "IF they were bigger--you might be afraid :-) lol.
Joyous, antics amongst the flowers and as they sail into the upper reaches of the canopy of the forest. Hummomgbird antics and games galore as they chase and play. Necturing in flowers, racing to the cover / shelter of white pine trees, white oaks, red oaks, maples, and the lower shelter of hibiscus and smaller shrubs. 17 feeders, and adoration for plants such as: Proven Winners Vermillionaire Cuphea, Black and Blue Salvia, Garden Phlox, Fuschia Gartenmaster, and Ricartonni; Clematis Ragochi is a favorite, Cleone is starting to bloom, Honeysuckle Major Wheeler, Agastache, Lantana, Grandpa Ott Morning Glories, Purple Prince Zinnia. 10 boys and about 23 girls. Red flags are flying on the hill in the East habitat, to help migrators from the north easily locate Black and Blue Salvia, honeysuckle, zinnias and morning glory vines. My guests often bypass the feeders, preferring to visit masses of Vermillionairre, aka Cuphea. If I was told I could select only one plant for my hummingbirds, it would be Proven Winners Cuphea "Vermillionaire."
