Hummingbird Sighting

Date: 08/28/2016

Number: 6

6 ruby-throats today. Partial albino adult male was here again! Plus 2 adult males, 2 females and very plump immature male. I think the local hummers have left. Feeding activity was about 50/50 on nectar feeders and flowers. More feeding on flowers today than last several days. Lots of feeding on firecracker blossoms again. Also very frequent feeding on Wendy's Wish salvias and black and blue salvias. One hummer fed on some colias (sp?) and petunia blossoms yesterday. One adult male looked like he was doing mating behavior. He did many long and short U-shaped flights in front of a female perched in a small tree. Very exciting to watch. 2nd time I've seen this in about last month. Last hummer went to roost at 8:04 pm.
