One male still guarding a feeder from all comers. He flashes his ruby gorget and attacks from above and behind then stops and feeds from the feeder (rubbing it in? or just needs more fuel or both)
I adore the antics and am sad to contemplate their coming migration. I am concerned because this area (Northern VA) is in a drought and flowers are becoming hard to find. We have had a lot of hot, dry, sunny days without rain...forecast is for more of the same.
