I've noticed hummingbirds nectaring from tall stalk-type flowers that have numerous tiny purple/blue flowers. These just grow wild in our woods. We will be so disappointed to see our hummers go. Normally, we would have at least 10-15; this year, we started with only two. We are seeing 5 or 6 now, so assumming the "extras" are juvies. At the moment, the "hummingbird wars" are on - lots of feeder protection.
