My across-the-street neighbor showed me a chrysalis hanging from (of all places) a rose bush. What a hazard-filled trip that must have been for the caterpillar climbing quite high on a rose cane. Both of us have never seen a chrysalis in the wild even though we're long-time monarch fans. We're hoping it survives. The rose bush hangs over common milkweed below it.
