Between 12:30 and 4:30pm 8/31/16 I saw 17 monarch butterflies at 12th St Beach, Chicago, IL. Not 100% sure I didn't see the same individual multiple times but it was stil a significant number, I think. Usually were spotted coming from Lake Michigan going westward into the city. The weather was nice and sunny and there was a southerly wind blowing all day.
