Hummingbird Sighting

Date: 09/01/2016

Number: 6

Five feeders in eastern NC. Feeding for approx. 10 years. Last spring migration and this year also very few males stopped by. Each fall migration many females arrive about mid august and they stay until Oct-Nov. No males to be seen. Why do none stay in spring and only females stay in the fall. Very puzzled. Thanks for any thoughts.
