Hummingbird Sighting
Sightings report image

Date: 09/02/2016

Number: 75

We are now having well over 75 little beauties at our front feeders alone. It's simply mass feeding. Recently we cleared all the shrubs from along the front perimeter on the north side of our home. The feeders are much more exposed now and where the hummers had a preference to a single spot at the southeast corner, now that feeder is guarded by a single female as are most of the south side feeders. It also might be that we repainted the double front doors deep red. The migrating hummers see this as they come in from the north. The pix is from my desktop at the computer at 7:15am Friday Sept. 2.
