I watched my first Monarch of the season. It was a female! She laid eggs on the milkweed in my yard. I took the leaves with eggs inside and as of today (Sept. 2) I count 6 small caterpillars on the leaves. There are seven more to become caterpillars in that container. My neighbor saw another Monarch, yesterday, in my yard. I was able to see five more eggs on leaves and also took them in. Last year I only raised 6 Monarchs. Hopefully this will be a good year. Thanks for all the updates.
