I was canoeing on the Connecticut River and had the great pleasure of hearing and seeing a pair of Bald Eagles. The larger, (male?) of the two seemed as interested in us as we were in him. Maybe he was thinking that our Pekinese/Pug would make a nice dinner. It was between 5-6 PM. The female stayed higher up in the trees. Photo taken from a canoe. The Eagle was on a branch overhanging the river approximately 20 feet above the water. Impressive birds!
