This week besides feeding from the feeders I have seen Ruby throated males and or females and juveniles nectaring from Rose of Sharon, Hot Lips salvia, Cardinal flowers, Latana Landmark Rose Sunrise, Lonicera Major Wheeler honeysuckle and Cuphea Vermillionaire. Today right before sunset I saw something unusual, I believe, a female hummer whose top of head was a yellowish white. She was feeding from the Vermillionaire and I was able to get a picture. I was wondering if it could have been pollen, or maybe a banders marking. Curious as to what it may be. Has anyone come across a hummer like this?
