In the past 2 weeks, I have seen 6 monarch butterflies in my front yard, where I grow milkweed and flowers. I had about 20 eggs and caterpillars, but the wasps and yellow jackets ate all the caterpillars. Another monarch came along and laid more eggs, so I covered the milkweed with mosquito netting and destroyed any paper wasp nests I could find. The new caterpillars are now doing great, and I am excited about raising my first monarchs in my butterfly garden.
