Monarch Adult Sighted

Date: 09/04/2016

Number: 2

A Monarch butterfly fed at the blooms of two Rose of Sharon bushes in our backyard. One of the bushes had deep pink double blooms and the smaller bush had light pink single blooms. The Monarch would feed at these buses alternately for a period of about 45 minutes. The Monarch's head was heavily covered with pollen. It was SO beautiful !!!. Another Monarch entered our backyard somewhat later than the first Monarch, and fed for a brief time before flying in a southerly direction out of our backyard.
