Resident ruby throated male remains on daily patrol seeing off all comers so far as he is able. He flashes his ruby gorget and dashes frantically from feeder to feeder, ever vigilent. Occasionally the females and juveniles get into feed at the feeders (except the one he considers his own private feeder.)

I will miss them terribly when they go. They provide such entertainment throughout the spring, summer and early fall.
