Sightings report image

Date: 09/04/2016

Number: 1

My chrysalis was going clear with very visible butterfly inside at 8am.
By 1pm the butterfly emerged.
The photo was taken right before 4pm as the butterfly tried its first attempt to move (after drying wings) away from the chrysalis.
It fell to ground and as I held my finger down in the plants, it climbed up my hand. When I lifted my hand up, it flew over to a sunflower plant and from there flew away, up and over the house in a southwest direction. Hoping it makes the journey safely!!
