Near 1 p.m. viewed monarch nectaring on Mexican sunflowers that were laying down due to hurricane that passed our house September 2nd. First time I've ever seen one. I know one stopped in our yard and left eggs on milkweed in the spring because I found monarch caterpillars. I am new in butterfly gardening and I am more excited than I can tell you. I will be looking for more tomorrow and every day.
