These have been observed over the last week - hadn't had time to log them. One of these sighted was on my property, but the amazing thing was that it was LITTLE - about 2 inches across from forewing tip to forewing tip! Its pattern of flying & coloration led me to firmly believe it was a Monarch. One was observed yesterday at Medical Associates in Lynchburg VA. The other 2 were observed flying across 501 N about 2 miles north of Gladys VA. They are all noted to be flying very purposely & are rarely seen nectaring. The ageratum is in bloom as well as Spanish Needle & asters in the fields, zinnias in the home yards, however it has turned quite dry!
