Monarch Larva Sighted

Date: 09/07/2016

Number: 6

I collected six larva in various stages to share with a 4th grade science class tomorrow. I also have 4 pupa to show and to leave with them.

There are few eggs on the common milkweeed that I did not disturb.
Last year the rose milkweed and butterfly weed were frequent host plants. This year not even one egg or caterpillar was on any of those milkweeds.

There are three monarchs in the gardens visiting blooms. Foam flower is frequently visited.
