While collecting ASSP seed pods from our milkweed garden at Clarno,Oregon, I came across 2 monarch cats, 1 in the instar 3 stage, and 1 in the instar 4 stage. One cat was in showy milkweed, and the other cat was in narrow-leaf. I collected them and am captive rearing/tagging and releasing at our Bend Forest Service Office.
