Monarch Larva Sighted

Date: 09/08/2016

Number: 3

I work in Mt. Vernon, Illinois, and in the backyard at my office, I have planted a butterfly garden of several milkweed varieties for monarchs, as well as rue, dill, and parsley for swallowtails. We fostered three larvae to adulthood a couple weeks ago. This morning, I saw one medium-sized caterpillar and two smaller ones on my Asclepias tuberosa. I will monitor their progress.
