7 or 8 ruby throated hummers this evening. Assume they are adult females and immatures. A lot more taking of nectar from feeders now. Also watch them catch a lot of insects. Fun to watch them stick out their long slender tongues. But they also feed frequently on salvias such as Wendy's Wish and black & blue. Also sipping on firecracker. Hummingbird bug showed up this evening also. This is 2nd or 3rd one we've seen in last couple weeks. Roosting time this evening was about 7:40 pm. A little earlier than usual but I think it is due to earlier low light from cloud cover.
