Two female or juvenile ruby-throateds are vying for power of the feeder hanging in the middle of my perennial garden. One sits on the shepherd's hook that the feeder hangs from and flies after the other when it comes to nectar. Today I hung another feeder around the corner so they could each have their own. This one might not be so popular because it is near the tree the other birds perch in before they go to the seed feeder. Also, the feeder doesn't have a perch to feed from.
