Monarch Larva Sighted

Date: 09/08/2016

Number: 36

36, and there could be more. Milkweed species present: A. curavassica; A. incarnata; A. tuberosa; A. syratica
They have eaten all the leaves and flowers and smaller stems on the curavassica, which is clearly their favorite. There was only 1 on the tuberosa. They don't seem to like that one much at all. Previous larvae decimated the syratica. I relocated some, esp. the smaller ones, from the curavassica to the other species, as even the little ones were starting to wander onto other not edible plants, in search of milkweed. Put out butternut squash slices near-ish the plants as emergency food, as I can't look out for them over the weekend.
