Counted at least 8 hummers this evening. Quite possibly there were more. Females and immature males. Saw several amazing upward spiral air battles while 2 hummers circled around each other. Had 1 hummer that perched in a salvia all evening between feedings and was chittering almost all the time. Very vocal. Migration is probably reaching peak in our yard in next few days. Roosting time was 7:46 p.m. tonight. Less cloudy than yesterday.
