Sadly in spite of large patches of milkweeds we have only seen 3 monarchs here this summer. Less than 12 instars(we searched the plants daily for several weeks)and no successful hatchings.Truly the bleakest season out of the past five years of monitoring this site and planting for them. hoping for a better population in 2017.
