I had 4 caterpillars turning to pupae,
2 hung themselves under the eaves of my house, one under a windowsill and the fourth onto the seedpods of a plant. I thought the ones unde the eaves, high up, would be safe, but a couple of days later they were eaten by something. This morning I discovered that the one hanging on the seedpods was eaten too - now only one is left, which I covered with netting duct-taped to the windowsill. I hope this one makes it. It is still green -has not turned black yet. So, it goes to show you that you cannot trust Mother Nature - you have to help and protect them. I definitely learned a lesson.
