about 25 adults seen while tagging 11 near north entrance of Bosque del Apache National Wildlife Refuge. the site had a few large Rio Grande cottonwood trees and lots of sunflowers (Helianthus annuus think) along State Hwy 1. We tagged from 9 to 10 AM. Two monarchs which were startled but not netted escaped by flying south.
