Peak migration has begun!! Today is the first day this season we were dodging monarchs on the drive west to Holiday Beach & back along Lake Erie's Northshore. A friend reported seeing about 50 monarchs along east beach near Tip at Point Pelee National Park that did not cross Lake Erie despite a light NW wind. That is about how many we also saw this evening before sunset. They continued to flutter together & didn't settle into a large cluster before we left the park at sunset at 8 pm. Temperature: - 17°c/63°f.
