A chubby adult male ruby-throat has guarded the three feeders on my deck all summer. Last night, around 7:30 pm, he returned and sat in the elm tree that over-shadows the feeder next to my oriole jelly feeder. While he sat in the elm tree, a large adult female ruby-throat was seen chasing a smaller female around the same tree.
