The male who had been monopolising the feeder was last sighted on the 8th. Since then my resident female has taken up his post and today I witnessed her scare off another hummingbird. I purchased a new Oriole feeder and put it out because in past years neither species discriminated based on the colour of the plastic in which the nectar was contained. I will report what happens with 2 feeders next week.
