Another newly emerged Monarch this morning! Since my last reports, this summer has produced a nice bunch of new Monarchs from my milkweed field, though not as many as in past years.
Two weeks ago I started spotting mature Monarchs which were obviously migrating from the north. They do not seem to be laying eggs so much now but I still see a few chrysalises left to hatch. I am hopeful that their numbers will steadily grow and I am grateful that my small garden has contributed.
