Monarch Adult Sighted

Date: 09/14/2016

Number: 1

First Monarch of Fall 2016 sighted. This was not a "Queen" butterfly. It was definitely a Monarch. It was flying slowly in a Northeast to Southwest direction. It circled several times over a flower bed but never came down to feed. Interestingly, the milkweed plants have started blooming again. It is rare for them to bloom in the fall here.
