For the first time this season I woke up to no ruby-throat buzzing at the feeder outside my bedroom window. Have only seen two birds today, and they are both squabbling over the feeder outside the kitchen window. I suspect one, with light streaking on the throat,is a juvenile male. From checking notes I have taken in recent years, the hummingbird population seems to be thinning out sooner than it has in the past couple of years.
