I work at the University Park Airport (SCE). Since the beginning of September, we have seen several butterflies come by. Like most of the others, today’s Monarch butterfly was flying over the ramp (albeit lower than most) toward the WSW near the terminal at 3:45 PM. My hunch is that the butterflies that come by here fly on the ramp side of the terminal because the building blocks winds from the west, at least for over 300 feet. Today it was 78ºF with the wind from the WSW at 7 mph.
