Monarch Waystation #271 report: A break down of all the larvae I found feeding among the purple, common and tropical milkweeds plus butterflyweeds in the front yard:
4 3rd instars, 3 4th instars and 24 5th instars! This count includes 2 5th instars on "walkabout" that were taken indoors to containers for them to pupate in. I had been seeing feeding damage as well as a glimpse of some caterpillars during the week, but didn't have time for an inventory until today! Very happy at the "turnout" this year!
