Hummingbird Sighting
Sightings report image

Date: 09/19/2016

Number: 1

Little wonders never cease ! I just looked out the back window at the large feeder and I was shaking my head about how the Wasps were now battling each other over the Hummingbird feed. I was once agin thinking it was time to bring in the feeders as this is the latest I think I have ever left them out. That will all change from now on. I will wait until it freezes. Just about to turn away from the window and get back to running my business and again, to my delight, another surprise. A hummingbird was trying to land. The Wasps scared him away. I immediately ran to the front to see if I would catch him/her at the front feeder. I did this because he flew right over the window I was looking out and I guessed correctly. I have attached a picture here that was taken in a hurry. The lighting is not great but you can see him/her. I assume its a HER because of how late it is in the season. Please email back and let me know you got this. Thanks, Verne
