Monarch Adult Sighted

Date: 09/19/2016

Number: 6

I was outside around 3:30 p.m. taking a break at work, and saw a Monarch butterfly flying above in the trees, fluttering around!
Then, when I got home later around 6 p.m., there were about 5 Monarchs on the Mexican Torch sunflowers in my backyard! That's the most I've seen at one time! They all seemed really hungry and stayed there until dusk! One male Monarch stayed even though it was getting darker. He seemed to stretch out his wings a lot when the sun was out stronger, enjoying the warmth?!
There were 2 hungry hummingbirds that flew up while all the Monarchs were out there too!
