Monarch PEAK Migration
Sightings report image

Date: 09/20/2016

Number: 30

The wind shifted from south to north in the afternoon of 9/20/16, and monarchs began passing overhead heading south, maybe ten per hour. We also saw a dozen at a time in the garden at home, and 8 in another garden not far from us. We had several additional sightings of monarchs flying back and forth, checking feeders and tithonia flowers and tropical milkweed. This is the most we've seen this fall, and with a definite migratory pattern.
