I'm thrilled to tell you that my husband and I sighted B2838 in our garden in Annapolis, CA today. There were two, one tagged and one untagged. They were considerate enough to let us get close enough to read the ID number. They were loving the zinnias. I've attached a photo.
Sincerely,
Jane S
The day of the sighting was my 73rd birthday.

This is a Monarch I reared, tagged and released in Yakima, WA! So it has traveled approximately 570 miles (straight line distance) to find its way to your garden. It's on its way to an overwintering site on the CA coast...possibly Bolinas...since that isn't that far from you...or maybe further down in Santa Cruz or Pacific Grove. It may well be sighted again!
