Monarch Adult Sighted

Date: 09/22/2016

Number: 3

3 Monarchs were enjoying the butterfly bush at Prescott Park in Portsmouth. The an aggressive little honey bee knocked one of the Monarchs off. It fell to the ground but immediately got up and took off would with the 2nd Monarch. The 3rd continued to feed and the honeybee tried to chase her off, too. She went to another flower and then back to the butterfly bush. She eventually took off south. Then down the street a male butterfly was in a friend's garden on milkweed flowers. They will send a photo in today. It was great to see the Monarchbutterflies. It made my year! Wish I had my camera.
