For over the span of a week I've been watching a beautiful monarch migration. Over slow moving trains down Main Street in LaGrange, in goldenrod fields; over roadways, shops, restaurants........my husband and I have observed several EVERY time we've been out and about. It's easily the most over a period of several days that I've ever witnessed. The monarchs were late getting to our area but once here they made up for lost time in earnest during July through early September. Though I've seen a stray migrating monarch here and there since late August/early September, they are really moving through now. It's been several years since I've observed so many migrators and I've never witnessed so many nectaring in one place as seen last month. Just wonderful. If this is any indication, I believe the numbers will be up in the early 2017 count. I hope so! :) Go monarchs go!!
