Hummingbird Sighting

Date: 09/22/2016

Number: 2

Two ruby throats trying to feed but too busy trying to fend off the other to do it. I put another feeder up to see if that helps (usually it doesn't but it makes me feel better.) I had 4 up but consumption had dropped off so I went to one feeder--now back to two. Consumption is only really enough for one but I am still seeing competition for the feeders so I have opted to keep two up for now.

Please keep your feeders up at least 2 weeks after your last sighting...last year I had two stragglers come through that late who were very grateful for the nectar.

Remember to dump nectar at least twice a week, clean and refill your feeders. It's critical for hummingbird health that they have access to clear (not cloudy) nectar. Thank you for caring about our hummingbirds!!!
