Netted, tagged and released 4 male monarch butterflies that were nectaring on mexican sunflower (tithonia).

We also raised, tagged and released 44 monarch butterflies this year, during August and the 1st half of Sept, down from 107 in 2015. We could have done more, but opted not to. Our large patch of milkweed was not completely stripped this year, compared to 2015, when it was.

Overall, this has been a good year, maybe a little less than 2015.
