Number: 1

Monarch Waystation #271 report:
@ 9:30 am 1 female or juvenile hummingbird [no stripes seen on throat] approached some Lady in Red Salvia in my yard to nectar and then noticed me standing there. It was curious and hovered, advanced in small "steps" towards me as I stood still and watched. I tried backing away and stooping to keep it close. Was not wearing any red. I was standing close to some of the Salvias [others were available]. The bird backed away from me then flew over the house south towards the back yard. There are other nectar plants there but did not check to see if this bird went there.
